Heartthrob Television Doctor Joins Legendary “Film Doctor” to Address Academy of Art University Graduates, Receive Honorary Doctorate

On Friday, May 26 at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, actor Noah Wylie of “E.R.” fame will introduce legendary film editor Dede Allen, who is set to receive an honorary Doctorate as a highlight of the Academy of Art University, San Francisco’s commencement ceremonies.
Widely recognized as one of the most influential women in post-WW2 film production, Allen, whose continuing career has spanned seven decades, has contributed greatly to the success of such films as “The Hustler,” “Bonnie & Clyde,” “Serpico,” “Dog Day Afternoon,” “Breakfast Club,” “Henry & June,” and “John Q.”
Dr. Elisa Stephens, President of the venerable San Francisco art institution stated, “We are more than thrilled to be able to honor one of the film industry’s true greats.”
In addition, Warren Beatty will be honoring Dede Allen via a recorded greeting, paying homage to a talent who helped launch Beatty’s career.
Commencement ceremonies will begin at 11:00 A.M.
